About:
During the first week of April, East Rockaway Junior-Senior High School’s Dignity club, the Senior National Honor Society and the Skills and Achievement department held an Autism Awareness Week. As part of the event, middle school advisories focused on defining autism and learning about individuals with autism through videos and activities. Each day, student volunteers from the two clubs and the advisers sold puzzle pieces, temporary tattoos, puzzle piece bracelets, guesses to a candy jar and baked goods. Nearly $400 was raised and will be donated to Autism Speaks.
